For Downtown Saint Paul residents and stake-holders, what is ahead in 2018?

With Eric Eskola, Co-host of TPT/"Almanac"

This is a two part discussion:

1. Real Crime Stories! We will sit down with police officials and try to separate myth from reality related to downtown crime: What types of crimes occur where? Are things better or worse than three years ago? What are police doing to address problem areas?

2. Spring Opportunities All across downtown there are new opportunities for residents to get involved in making our neighborhood better, Come and hear more. Ask you questions.

YOUR QUESTIONS: We are accepting your questions now at [email protected]. There will be limited chance to submit written questions during the evening event.

Sit down with police officials

16 wins is all it takes to get the parade route ready!  St. Paul turns RED GOLD & GREEN for what's sure to be a long playoff run, with the potential for tons of home ice hockey!

Source: NHL.com

During the Stanley Cup Playoffs, when you want to watch your Minnesota Wild, consider this your go-to guide for the best that downtown Saint Paul has to offer!

Tom Reid’s Hockey City Pub – 2 for 1's every Wild game. Use your Pioneer Pass to get 15% off your entire tab.

The Bulldog Lowertown – Use your Pioneer Pass to get 10% off your total bill.
Eagle Street Grill – 2 for 1's AB taps (must watch game in facility)
Citizen Supper Club – Use your Pioneer Pass to get 10% off your total bill.
Rival House – Use your Pioneer Pass to get 10% off your food.
Public Kitchen + Bar – Use your Pioneer Pass to get 10% off your total bill.
Fitzgerald's – SHUTTLE SERVICE leaves at 6:15pm

Don't get caught offsides (or outside), because you missed one of the shuttles to the game.

Alary’s Bar has four… yes four… shuttles that go to the Xcel Energy Center for Wild games. Customers receive free indoor parking for all home games. Pay $3 for a bus ticket, then redeem the ticket after the game at Alary's bar for beer or rail drinks.  Alary’s is also a great place to watch the game on TV, with its many televisions and sports bar atmosphere. (It's about a 5-8 minute walk from Pioneer Endicott)
Bennett’s Chop & Railhouse offers game day sirloin specials, Happy Hour from 3 to 6 p.m., and roundtrip shuttle service to all Xcel Energy Center events.
Shamrock's makes two runs to the Xcel Energy Center, with the first one leaving 40 minutes before the game, and the second 15 minutes before the game. Go in early for a quick game of bowling! The shuttle will pick you up at the bowling ally rail.

Game On, Eh!

Welcome to our first "Get-to-Know" Pioneer Endicott special edition, featuring David Williams – Corporate Leasing Manager.

When did you start at Pioneer Endicott?

August 2014

What part of your job do you enjoy most?

The diversity. Every day is different and I meet all kinds of amazing people each day. We have amazing residents in our community.

What do you like most about working at Pioneer Endicott?

We are a Historic property that isn’t cookie cutter. Each apartment is different and when touring here you never know what you will find in apartments that are newly put on notice. It’s fun showing the history of the building and sharing our community not only with prospective new residents but with anyone that wants to see how we have preserved the history of the building.

Hobbies:

Spending time with the kids, play pool and darts, watch lots of movies, listen to live bands and have friends in a few bands around the Cities.

If you could live anywhere for a month, where would it be and why?

I have lived in or visited 13 countries and 173 cities at last count. Germany was one of the most amazing places I have lived but I love the heat. Would love to go live on a beach somewhere and lose my cell phone for a month. I was stationed in Cyprus for 6 months, the heat was amazing, the ocean was beautiful and just walking outside onto sand and swimming in the ocean whenever I wanted was awesome.

What’s your favorite song lyric?

Don’t have a favorite lyric. Like all types and genres of music but in 21 years of living here I still don’t get Country.

What are you most proud of?

My amazing kids and also I served my Country when my grandparents thought I wouldn’t be able to handle the discipline.

Say "hey" to David and let him know you know all about him (but not in a creepy way).

Watch for more "Get-to-Know" features throughout the year!

4th Street Market District "Summary Report" shown below.  A great read, if you haven't already enjoyed it.  Here are a few exciting updates since we last featured this exciting new neighborhood development!

Mark your calendars!  Here's a quote from a recent article by James Walsh, Startribune.com:

"A feasibility study, funded by $40,000 from St. Paul and the Riverfront Development Corporation, will be completed by mid-November.  Once the study is complete, elements of the project could find their way into city capital improvement plans, said Rich Pakonen, developer of the Pioneer Endicott Building at 4th and Robert streets.  Now is the time to gather more allies, he said."
